In 2015 I completed a long series of paintings and pastels of largely life-size swans. Now I concentrate on the human figure and work with life models, making large scale drawings which which lead on to paintings and etchings. As Max Beckmann put it, "To transform three into two dimensions is for me an experience full of magic." I try to to conjure the real presence of each model. I live with my wife Hazel on the edge of Exmoor, in view of the Bristol Channel.
